Brewed: Mr Beer West Coast Pale Ale

Yesterday I brewed a batch of Mr Beer West Coast Pale Ale.

Here is what I used:

1 can West Coast Pale Ale HME
1 can Pale Export UME
1 bag Mr. Beer Booster
1/2 Packet Fermentis US-05 yeast.

While the product description does not say it, I think WCPA must be a sort of American Pale Ale.  I guess I will find out!  The extra bag of Booster will add some alcohol and body to the final brew.

You might have noticed, I am pretty much brewing up most of the Mr Beer catalog to see what beers I like best.  Even as I shift over to more 5 and 6 gallon batches, Mr Beer's 2 gallon size is perfect for experimental recipes and seasonal beers so I shall be brewing Mr Beer brews for a long time.

  1. Bottled this after 3 weeks. It still had trub floating on the surface and at the bottom of the fermenter. Not sure what that was about. Tasted okay. I would have left it to ferment for another week but I needed to get my decks cleared for Thanksgiving. I do not intend to do much brewing between now and Christmas.
